If you've been a reader here for awhile, then you know I'm part of the group Christian Marriage Bloggers Association, (CMBA). Well, they are putting on a 1/2 marathon blog challenge starting this coming Monday.
You might be asking yourself what is that?
Let me explain.
Since a half marathon is 13.1 miles then I'd be posting everyday for 13 days. Seeing how I was training for a marathon many moons ago, and then had babies, and then had health/knee problems, those issues snuffed out my dream. So I thought this half-marathon might make up for what I missed out on. Really, though, I know it won't, but hey, it was a cute spin on the whole idea!
This will be a huge challenge for me because....if you've noticed, my posts are very thorough. I try to give the whole counsel and not leave you, dear reader, at a loss over how to handle a situation. So, I will need to give you short little bursts of encouragement and advice. Oh, and don't expect any fancy pictures in these posts because my time will not permit it. I know you don't show up here for the pics, you come for the words!
This endeavor will be hard and I believe I'll be gasping for breath as I run this race. However, I feel it will benefit you and it will strengthen me in this writing ministry, so that's why I'm doing it. It'll help me to get over my many writing hangups. Yes, I still have stage fright every time I publish a post!

But I need you....
I need you to give me your ideas or some of the challenges and obstacles you're trying to overcome.
What would you like me to write on regarding marriage? You have free reign here. I hope you know by now that I'm not one to shy away from a topic. If you don't know that, then feel free to read my sex post. I couldn't get any more open and transparent when I wrote that one.
Remember, I'm writing everyday for 13 days.
Shout out a topic or two below or you can leave me your whole story and the issues that you're facing right now.

Hi Jolene, I have an issue with a believing husband who works about 20 hours a week getting paid minimum wage...he's the only provider. I can't seem to encourage him to find another job that gives more hours without not getting into an argument. We're living off of borrowed money and MY credit cards....I so want to throw in the towel. What else can I do besides pray?
ReplyDeleteJolene, this sounds like a wonderful challenge. I'm looking forward to reading the 13 day series. :-). As for topics...what about convincing or inspiring the husband to participate in a couples bible study? Or how to thrive in a marriage with one believer and one non believer. These aren't my issues. Just ideas for you. :)
